To create a consistent, cohesive, and strong voice for policing that enhances collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development among members, addressing the evolving challenges in policing and ensuring the safety and well-being of the communities they serve.

Mission Statement

The BC Association of Chiefs of Police’s mission is to:

  • Serve as the leading voice for all 9,250+ sworn police officers in the province.
  • Leverage research and evidence-based best practices to advocate for impactful policy initiatives.
  • Find solutions to mitigate key issues and address hot-button topics in policing.
  • Advocate to government and key stakeholders for necessary funding and support.
  • Promote collaboration and uniformity in police practices by working with government and stakeholders to drive positive change.
  • Provide enhanced training programs and resources to support members.
  • Increase funding capacity to create bursaries and additional training opportunities.
  • Host three professionally organized, topical, and informative conferences annually.
  • Enhance networking opportunities and conference structures to establish leadership in policing across the country.
  • Effectively communicate problems and concerns to the appropriate levels of authority.
