Become a Member
The purposes of the Society, as the united voice of police in British Columbia, are:
- Advocating for equitable, inclusive, effective and efficient public safety policies and best practices.
- Building community partnerships to support public safety.
- Encouraging and developing co-operation among Members to achieve common goals and foster uniform police practices.
- Promoting integrity, honour and ethical conduct.
- Transacting any and all other lawful business for which non-profit organizations may be incorporated pursuant to the laws of the Societies Act of BC, and the Business Corporations Act of BC, both as amended from time to time, as well as any successor acts.
Classes of Membership
The Association has two categories of membership: Active and Associate.
Active Members have voting rights and may attend in-camera meetings of the Association. Eligibility for Active Membership is limited to specific applicants while they are serving in office. Click here for details.
Associate Members do not have voting rights and are not permitted to attend in-camera meetings of the Association. Associate Membership may be granted to individuals employed by police agencies in the province or those involved in a specified sphere of law enforcement whose membership would support the Association’s objectives.
